Importance of Vitamin C

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a very important required nutrient for the proper functioning of our bodies. It’s vital for the formation and maintenance of connective tissue, amino acid metabolism and protection from chemicals.

Vitamin C helps several metabolism reactions; so, it’s very much important for proper digestion. It is also an important antioxidant. It helps produce protein collagen that structures bones, muscles, cartilages and blood vessels. It also helps in maintaining healthy teeth, bones and capillaries; advances the absorption of iron. It helps in maintaining healthy body tissues and a strong immune system.

To have high content of vitamin C, it’ll lead to healthy gums. It also improves vision and is extremely effective in healing wounds and burns. It also helps reducing the effects of too much sun exposure and decreases the blood sugar of diabetics.

Vitamin C also plays a big role in protecting us from heart diseases, common colds and flush, high blood pressure, cancer, asthma, diabetes and osteoarthritis.

Here are some sources of Vitamin C:
Broccoli, Strawberries, Cauliflower, Grapes, Pineapple, Lemonade, Avocados, Bananas, Onions, Tomatoes, Oranges, Carrots, Blueberries, Cabbages, mango, watermelon, winter squash, red peppers, raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, kale, asparagus, green beans, cloves, basil, green peas, sweet potato, garlic, plum, pear, corn, chili pepper, guava and figs.

Most people (like me) who don't get much Vitamin C from food take Vitamin C supplement.
Vitamin C supplement contains from 250-1000 milligrams per pill.

As for me, I'm taking FERN - C. FERN C is Vitamin C in Sodium Ascorbate form. Unlike other Vitamin C supplements, FERN-C is NON- ACIDIC. Therefore, it provides all the benefits of Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C, but without the sting.
