MYM and RT: Stage Decors for Sinulog Festival
The picture above was the top-stage decor for the Holy Mass - as part of the Sinulog Festival at Cebu City. The said event usually falls on the third Sunday of January - as the feast of Sr. Santo Niño. It is usually joined by people from different places - especially who have promises to the Patron Saint.
I've joined Sinulog Festival for several years now; this year, it rained cats and dogs while doing the street parade, but still, the event was pushed through; and I can say that you can feel the cooperation of one another to make the event possible.
Whenever I visit Cebu City, I always try to drop by at the church and pray.
Happy Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday everyone! cheers!

Camiguin Island's Katibawasan Falls
For this week's Watery Wednesday meme, I'm featuring my brother; this picture was taken at Katibawasan falls at Camiguin Island in time for our annual Grand Family Reunion - which was held last weekend. After the reunion proper, the participants were toured around the Island's tourist spots.
So if you happen to visit Cagayan de Oro City or any place in Misamis Oriental, I highly recommend Camiguin to be part in your itinerary - it's just about ten kilometers off the northern coast of Misamis Oriental.

Divine Mercy Shrine
El Salsador, Misamis Oriental
May of 2010 when I joined (with my aunts, grandmother and cousins) our annual family reunion – held at Iligan City. On our way home, we decided to visit the Divine Mercy Shrine, since it's located at El Salvador – which we can pass by on our way to Cagayan de Oro City.At that time, the 50-feet Shrine was still under construction. Despite of it, devotees and visitors were still welcomed. The organizers of the shrine made clear that there are rules to be followed strictly when you are in the sanctuary. The place should be kept solemn; Cameras and bags are not allowed in going up to the altar. They also have skirts (for women) to be borrowed when entering the Shrine.
The rays of the Divine Mercy serve as the stairs in going to and from the heart of the statue of Christ. In the heart of Christ is a mini altar. The organizers of the shrine encourage people to pray while on their way to the altar, because everyone will only be given at least a minute to stay there, so that everyone will be given the chance to reach the altar.
Before you can go up to the altar at the heart of the statue of Christ, a short seminar (about the Shrine’s rules and the intentions of visiting the place) will be conducted. They strictly implement the “No Seminar, No Entry” policy – this is to have order in the Shrine. (With my grandma; the picture was taken before the seminar started.)

Prayerful by Nature
St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral, Cagayan de Oro City
Night and Front View
Inside View
Prayer Room
I usually go to this room every time I feel the need to talk to God without distractions. I like the place because it's quiet, cold and solemn. There are chairs, carpets and foams provided for your comfort while praying. The room should be respected - there are dress codes to be followed before getting into the room. Silence should be kept; talking and singing inside are strictly prohibited. Also, phones should be turned off.

Silliman University's Larena Hall Dormitory
Larena Hall
My official residence for 4 years when I was studying at Silliman University, Dumaguete City.
An all-girls dormitory that has 3 floors and can accommodate more than 100 dormers.
I had rich memories when I was in this dormitory - I met girls from different cities and countries with different personalities; different activities were also encouraged - like sports fest, devotion, parties, pageants, etc.
It was an honor for me to be one of the officers and advisers; house rules were implemented in friendly ways - to learn from each other and helping each other to enrich our skills.

My Alma Mater - Silliman University
Silliman Hall - Silliman University's main building (the very first building). It was restored in 2001 for the centennial celebration.
Silliman University is one of the country’s top Christian institutions committed to total development for well being of society and the environment. A 62-hectar campus with 300 Acacia trees is located in the heart of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The University was established in 1901 by Presbyterian missionaries and it was the first American private school to be founded in the country.
Silliman was names after Dr. Horace Brinsmade Silliman, a retired businessman and philanthropist from Cohoes, New York – who gave the initial sum of $10,000 to start the school. Silliman got its university status in 1938.
I'm proud to be a Sillimanian. I got my Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication in 2004.

I Zipped It; I Conquered My Fears!!
I conquered Asia’s longest dual zipline at Dahilayan Adventure Park, Manolo Fortich Bukidnon, last June 14, 2010. I experienced the extreme adrenaline with the following conditions: Weather - Cloudy; Temperature – 22 degrees Celsius and wind speed – 20 kph.
The Dahilayan Adventure was started with a long drive from my city to Bukidnon for more than 2 hours. The travel was worth it – the park was indeed something to look forward to, because there is so much in store for the visitors, and one is the zipline adventure. Zip Zone’s dual carrying cables – 840 meters long from one point to another; total length of cables is 2,460 meters.
After the tiring zips, dine at their very cosy picnic area (within the heart of the park) and enjoy the very nice views with pine trees and cold weather. Have fun taking pictures at their zoo area with life-size animal statues.
It was indeed an amazing adventure I won’t forget…
